Brown Rice Royale

Brown rice provides a chewy, almost “nut-like” texture and taste to this simple side-dish. Delicious with beef or pork. Try a variety of mushrooms – shiitake, portabello, brown or white!

  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) vegetable oil
  • 3 cups (750 ml) sliced mushrooms
  • 3 cups (750 ml) cooked USA brown rice, cooked in beef stock
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) thinly sliced green onions
  1. In large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat; sauté mushrooms until tender.
  2. Stir in rice and onions. Cook, stirring constantly until heated through.
